In about 2-3 years I'm thinking of becoming a flight attendant. Hopefully by then airlines may be doing better than in the last few years..
Anyway, I'm friendly, keep a cool head in chaos, love to serve others %26amp; can deal with difficult people (especially the mentally ill). I love to travel, don't get homesick %26amp; I like flexible hours. What other traits or prerequisites do they look for?
What can increase my chances of getting hired? Perhaps volunteering? And what kind of previous jobs would look good on a resume?
Any other info or tips are greatly welcome. Thank you!Thinking of becoming a flight attendant ..am I right for the job, any advice?
Customer service and food handling experience will be a definate bonus, as well as any industry training. I got a job as cabin crew with 3 years customer service experience and 6 months food-handling experience and virtually no training and just out of highschool, so it's possible! I worked in a grocery store and a cafe, so any kind of customer-based jobs are, like I said, a plus.
They look for someone who can smile and hold a conversation - you must be between 161-181cm for most airlines, this is so you can reach overhead lockers (I'm 172cm and sometimes even I have problems), reach emergency equipment, but not so tall you can't get out emergency exits.
Tips? Be yourself, do your research and have faith =)Thinking of becoming a flight attendant ..am I right for the job, any advice?
Are you tall and/or attractive? Airlines want goodlooking flight attendants to be ';eye candy'; for passengers.
If you are a man, you must be gay and tall.
They want tall people to reach for the cuboards.
I guess you can work for airline reservations like delta, aa, southwest, jet blue, etc... work on the phones doing customer service and placing airline reservations.
Or you can do ticket counters. Checking in people before their flights.
These positions don't pay much around $11 an hour more or less. But you have to start somewhere so you can work your way up.
