Definitely get some in class experience early before you get your credentials. My stepfather, stepsister, and friend have been or are training to become teachers, and this is the number one rule. So many of their peers thought they wanted to teach, but as soon as they got in there and had to deal with it hands on, they bailed. It wasn't exactly what everyone imagines. What a waste of time and money. Also, if one age level doesn't work out, another may be more suitable for you. Good luck!
