The stem of my aloe vera plant is turning to muss, please help w/ advice.?

the soil is drying out, but, now the stem is starting to turn into muss. The top of the plant is still looking healthy. Please help me this plant is very special to me.The stem of my aloe vera plant is turning to muss, please help w/ advice.?
Well, if it's outside in the cold, it will do that over the winter and come back in the late spring. If it's inside, you might have it in too warm a place. Why is the soil dry? Water it for goodness sake. Also if it's inside try repotting it. Get new potting soil.

Good Luck. I have many Aloe plants (all outside) and they are pretty neat. The stem of my aloe vera plant is turning to muss, please help w/ advice.?
sounds like it got too much water....don't water it for a while....it should recover
If the top is healthy but it is mushy at the bottom, it may have root rot from being over watered. You say the soil is drying out, which also makes me think it has been too wet.

If that is the case, gently remove the plant from the wet soil, remove the dead (mushy) roots, and replant in soil that is just damp. There is a good chance it will recover.
