Need advice going to be first time mom!?

I live 55 miles away from from my doctor/ Hospital, has anybody ever heard of a scheduled delivery? Im just scared when the time comes, that it's going to be the longest drive of my life. Thanks so much : )Need advice going to be first time mom!?
I live an hour's drive from our hospital and to be honest, it's not that big a deal. I really don't think you need to schedule a delivery unless your practitioner feels the need. Most women don't have labors that are so short they can't make it to the hospital. You could ask for an induction but the rule of thumb is not to do one unless medically necessary until you're 42 weeks. Just let nature take it's course and have faith that you'll get there just fine. I did with my two. You could just talk to the doctor about going in when your contractions are further apart just to ease your mind. Even though I had an hour's drive, my Midwife told me to wait until they were about 3 min. apart. I still didn't deliver until 2 hours after we got there, so plenty of time! Best of luck and I'm sure you'll be fine!Need advice going to be first time mom!?
i lived 60 miles away from my hospital when i was prenant. but when i got close to my due date, i just stayed at my dads house that lives only 5 miles away from the hospital. i ended up having an emgancy c-section, but the best idea would be to just stay close to your hospital and wait for your baby to come out on her/his own!!
Yes, there are scheduled c-sections or maybe under the right circumstances (if the doctor says its ok) you could be induced early. That is a pretty far distance if you are in labor. I would ask your doctor about your options, I'm sure you will be fine!! Good Luck and Congrats!!
You can make a scheduled delivery. This means labor is induced. This is usually a much difficult labor. The drive is going to be hard, but for the first child a twelve hour labor is normal.
